Morning & Afternoon: Konehete Veterans Park
Hosted by the Cherokee County Recreation Department and Town of Murphy, this family-focused celebration runs 9 am–10 pm on Friday, July 4, 2025 Highlights include:
- Fishing derby, horseshoe tournament, peanut drop, field games
- Arts & crafts vendors and food trucks
- Kids’ games and music
- Fireworks lighting up the sky “at dark” — expect the show to begin around 9:30 pm
Afternoon & Evening: Lake Hiwassee at Mountain View Marina
Set your sights on Mountain View Marina for a concert and fireworks reflecting over Lake Hiwassee!
- Boat Parade begins at 1 pm
- Live music from The Varden, starting 6 pm, followed by the fireworks show
- Boat rentals, ice cream, and dockside seating offer prime viewing
- Marina amenities include boat slips and rentals—call (828) 644‑5451 to book your boat or slip!
🎆 Tips & Reminders
- At Konehete Park, bring lawn chairs or blankets for comfort
- Visit Mountain View Marina for ice cream, lake day essentials, and souvenirs
- The boat ramp closes at 3 pm and gas dock closes at 6 pm!
