Big Announcements

Normally I take a few minutes to chat with a local about the many awesome businesses and events, but I have a few great events to add to your calendar… and a schedule change. So first, the Murphy in Motion Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan Community Meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday March 4, 2025.

Tonight at 6:00 pm you can enjoy a Community Sing hosted by Common Ground at Murphy First United Methodist Church on Valley River Ave. in Downtown Murphy.

We had a few days of Spring weather, but winter clearly isn’t going anywhere, so stay warm and enjoy the new Gallery at the Mill at 104 Tennessee St. This new gallery boasts the talents of regional artists curated by the Cherokee County Arts Council Director, David Vowell.

While you’re there, you can visit the awesome businesses of The Mill Building to fill a growler, pick up a snow day read and a cup of coffee, stock up on some new olive oil, and of course, find a new outfit so you’re ready for that beautiful warm weather when it sneaks up on us again!

The Murphy Business Association is hosting it’s bi-annual meeting to share about the Murphy Spring Festival, volunteering, sponsorship opportunities, and other important updates for downtown businesses next Wednesday, February 26th.

The board of directors will also share about ways the MBA is promoting Murphy, building a business directory, and partnering with community organizations, so please join us.

All downtown Murphy businesses are welcome and we encourage you to join our membership:

If you’re a vendor in the area, the deadline is coming up! Spaces are limited, so click the images below for more info and to complete the application.

This Saturday, February 22nd the Cherokee County Arts Council is hosting the Starry Night Gala. Tickets are still available, but get yours soon so as not to miss all the fun!

We could go on and on about some of the great things happening here in our community, but we’ll just encourage you to check out the Event Calendar to find all the live music, and fun here in Murphy and throughout Cherokee County… where NC begins!

OK, just one last reminder…

For the entrepreneurs, business community, and those considering a new venture, remember to RSVP for the Business Resource Roundtable at Tri-County Community College.

You can scan the qr code or click the link to RSVP for this free event: Register here to attend.

A big thank you to the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Murphy, NC directors for collaborating to bring this to our community! Both have some exciting opportunities, so click below to learn more about what each organization has to offer!
