Aside from the Christmas Tree Lighting, parades, and festivities, we love the way Christmas brings out the kindness in people. Even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, everyone comes together to make this a magical time of year.
A perfect example is Buck Bald’s Toys for Tots Pancake Breakfast at The Mill Building on Tennessee St. in Downtown Murphy, NC. Beginning at 8:00 am this Saturday, December 2nd, you can bring $10 and a new toy Buck Bald Brewing in Murphy, NC. Not only do you get to fill up your belly, but you get to fill up those toy boxes and donation buckets!

So, now that you’ll be in town Thursday, you can find those perfect gifts at our amazing downtown businesses for Shop Late AND celebrate with the community as we Light the Town of Murphy Christmas Tree at 6:00 pm, this Thursday November 30th!

If you’re looking for Santa Pics, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cherokee County is the place to be Friday night, December 1st. You can schedule with or without the jolly guy, just text 828-361-0989 to book your ten (10) minute session for free. Of course, donations are greatly appreciated and if you’re looking for other ways to bring Christmas cheer, I’m sure the amazing staff and volunteers of BBBS can point you in the right direction.

Looking to find some local art? The infamous John C. Campbell Folk School’s Holiday Sale is going on now and their Fireside Sale boasts entertainment from local musicians AND one-of-a-kind handcrafted jewelry, art, photography, textiles, and much more Saturday December 9th.
